Please join the UASBC on Zoom at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, February 10, 2020 for a presentation by Neil Burgess on finding, documenting and raising awareness of shipwrecks in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Neil Burgess is President of the Shipwreck Preservation Society of Newfoundland and Labrador (SPSNL). Neil will speak about a recent shipwreck exploration expedition working with Ocean Quest, a dive shop in St. John's. The team re-located and documented several exciting shipwrecks in Placentia Bay, on Newfoundland's south coast. Neil will also present 3D photogrammetry of several shipwreck sites and highlight the virtual museum exhibit When World War II Came to Bell Island, Newfoundland that SPSNL created in partnership with the Bell Island Heritage Society (with funding from Digital Museums Canada).

Zoom is free to participants and relatively easy to use. It provides good video conferencing and presentation capabilities and is being widely used by other organizations to host events and presentations on-line.
