UASBC Underwater Explorers Speakers Series - June 9

Wednesday, June 9, 2021

Dear UASBC Members:

Please join the UASBC on Zoom at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 for an illustrated talk on the history of piracy in Canada’s Atlantic waters, by Dan Conlin.

Dan completed his graduate thesis on privateering in Nova Scotia in 1996, and after curating a piracy exhibit at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax in 2007, he wrote a history of piracy in Atlantic Canada, “Pirates of the Atlantic: Robbery, Murder and Mayhem of Canada’s East Coast”. Dan is Curator at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 in Halifax and an accomplished maritime historian.

If you would like to attend, please send an email to keith@bossons.ca to get instructions on how to join the meeting.

Zoom is free to participants and relatively easy to use.  It provides good video conferencing and presentation capabilities and is being widely used by other organizations to host events and presentations on-line.

We hope to see you soon!
