Dan Downes, Dive Instructor-Trainer SDI/TDI

As an Instructor-Trainer for SDI/TDI, and with FQAS in Quebec, Dan develops and delivers formal instruction and leads expeditions for recreational and technical divers and dive professionals. Dan will give us a slide show on the 1000 Islands Region of the St. Lawrence River.  The 1000 Islands Region is celebrated as one of the world’s best fresh-water shipwreck diving destinations, due to the large number of shipwrecks throughout the region, and due in part also to the accidental introduction of the zebra mussel (Dreissenia polymorpha). The Zebra Mussel has been credited with cleaning the river to amazing levels of clarity.
