Victoria Speakers Series: Historic Shipwrecks of Southern Vancouver Island

Wednesday, November 17, 2021 - 19:00

San Pedro aground on Brotchie Ledge

During the Gold Rush of 1858, Victoria grew and prospered. Ships arrived from England and San Francisco daily, bringing goods and merchandise. As the shipping increased, it was inevitable that vessels would be lost.

UASBC Explorations Director Jacques Marc will talk about many of the ships that were lost off the southern tip of Vancouver Island and what the UASBC is doing to document them.

All are invited to attend free of charge; attendees must wear masks and be fully vaccinated.
